My Biography

Hello everyone! My name is Rose Lynn, and I am currently a sophomore Theatre/Communications Double Major at Rider University. While my strongest passion is performing live on stage, I also love to work with people and establish connections through communication. I believe that I am well qualified in both fields and with a lot of desire and dedication, I will be successful.

Singing is and always has been my number one interest. I began taking voice lessons when I was 10 years old and continued throughout high school. In these eight years of vocal lessons, my voice really matured and stretched in range. My favorite style to sing is Broadway, and I have a great interest in musicals. I took my first acting class in the Fall of 2007 at Rider University and have been developing new techniques ever since. I’ve had minimal study in ballet, jazz, and tap, but I plan to improve my dancing skills in the very near future. There is so much more for me to learn as a performer, and I’m all ears to constructive criticism.

On a different note, I am a Resident Advisor in Conover Hall and feel that this position has allowed me to grow in my communication skills. I act as a liaison between my residents and the Rider campus, and I’m challenged to build community amongst the residence hall. In this position, I’ve learned to observe my residents, distinguish the differences between them, and adjust my confrontation style to their specific needs. This summer I will be a member of the Orientation Staff, which means I will assist the incoming freshmen with their transition into college life. I can’t wait!
